Despite delays, new Amazon fulfillment center in Madison County set to open this summer – YallPolitics

In November 2020, Amazon announced that it was investing in a new, state-of-the-art fulfillment center in Madison County, Mississippi, creating more than 1,000 new, full-time jobs, with industry-leading pay and comprehensive benefits. The fulfillment center, the company said at the time, would be the first facility in the state to feature Amazon’s innovative robotics technology.
Despite delays in its opening earlier this year, the new 700,000 square foot Canton facility is now set to open in mid-July, according to Joey Deason, Executive Director of the Madison County Economic Development Authority.
Governor Tate Reeves tweeted that this project is another major investment that will bring quality jobs and strengthen the state’s economy.
